Getting started

What file types can I import?

PDF files, plain text and Markdown files, and photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP). Photos and handwritten notes are read with on-device text recognition.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

A scanned PDF is a stack of images with no text layer, so there is nothing to extract. Twixem tells you clearly rather than producing an empty quiz — and photographing the pages works, because that path goes through text recognition.

Which languages does Twixem AI support?

Sixteen: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, German, Turkish, Indonesian, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Italian, Vietnamese and Swahili. Both the interface and the generated content — a French course produces French questions, whatever language the app is set to.

Privacy

Are my documents used to train AI models?

No. Your documents are never used to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's. They are stored so you can come back to them later, and you can delete them at any time.

Where does text recognition happen?

On your device. Photographing a page of notes does not upload that photo to a server to be read. It costs us more to build it that way; it means your handwriting never leaves your phone.

How do I delete my account?

From inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Everything goes — documents, quizzes, decks and history. No email to write, no waiting period.

Subscription

Does my subscription work on all my devices?

Yes. Your subscription is attached to your account, not to the device you bought it on. Subscribe on your phone and the web app knows immediately, and the reverse.

How do I cancel?

Wherever you subscribed — iPhone Settings, Google Play, or the link in your confirmation email for a web subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. You return to the free plan limits — 3 generations a day — but every document, deck and result you created stays exactly where it was.

Studying

Can I use Twixem AI offline?

Partly. Quizzes and flashcards you already generated stay available offline on mobile. Generating new content needs a connection, because that is where the AI runs.

How does the review schedule decide when to show a card?

Each card is scheduled for the moment you are about to forget it — slightly later each time you get it right, much sooner when you get it wrong. It is the same principle Anki popularised, applied automatically. We explain it in detail here.

What happens if I skip a few days?

Nothing breaks. The plan redistributes what you missed across the days remaining before your exam. A study plan that punishes you for one bad week is a study plan people abandon.
